Nigeria’s Central Bank Digital Currency Pilot to Start on October 1, 2021

The Central Bank of Nigeria is set to launch a digital currency on Oct. 1, Peoples Gazette newspaper reported on Friday that The Central Bank of Nigeria will use the Hyperledger fabric blockchain, a free software and distributed ledger authorized to run. A project called “GIANT”.

Rakiya Mohammed, the Bank’s Director of Information Technology said, the central bank of Nigeria is currently reviewing and proofing the concept within this year.
