Rare 101-carat diamond bought for $12.3m in cryptocurrency

A rare 101.38 carat diamond is the second largest pear-shaped diamond to appear on the public market. The diamond, called “The Key 10138,” is a rare pear-shaped diamond from Diacore company at Sotheby’s auction. The diamond was purchased for $12.3 million in cryptocurrency, or £8.8 million by mystery buyer. This sale is an important step that can be said that Cryptocurrency accepted.

Mr.Wenhao Yu,the deputy chairman of Sotheby’s jewellery in Asia. He said the sale has attracted “new clients well beyond the traditional pool of collectors,” adding that cryptocurrency purchases appeal to a digitally savvy generation.
